Tim McDonnell was born on October 7th 1975 in Dublin, Ireland. The 2nd youngest of five children born to William, a doctor & Emer, a homemaker. After a very successful, widely published photography career in Dublin he got into film working on a feature with his friend Eoin Macken (NBC’s NightShift; Resident Evil). In late 2013 his acting talent was discovered by director Graham Cantwell. He quickly secured an agent in Dublin and also in London where he currently resides. Before moving to London he featured in a number of films as well as starring in, producing & co-writing the short film DogEatDog along with his brother, director, Gavin McDonnell. He has since starred in the FX drama The Bastard Executioner and the FOX drama Deep State as well as a Discovery Channel Documentary ‘War Time Crimes’ and short film ‘To Asal With Love, Nadia’ soon to be made into a TV series. Alongside his acting he is currently producing a feature film ‘He Who Dare$’ which is in the final stages of development; The TV series ‘Unrest’ (in development), The documentary ‘Flair’ (pre-production) and feature film ‘Yeti’ (in development), a script by himself & his brother Gavin. He also works extensively with the charity SightSavers in Developing countries in Sub-Saharan Africa & Bangladesh and has recently returned from shooting a documentary in Mozambique. Tim is also a volunteer Search & Rescue Medic with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution with over 10 years experience & currently active on The Thames River in London.
