Краткая биография

Ryan is a British / German stage and screen actor who trained at the Drama Centre London. He spent his childhood in Germany and is fluently bilingual. He’s known for the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit (2020), dir. by Scott Frank, the BFI produced short comedy To Leech (2013), opposite Jason Watkins and Julian Rhind-Tutt and the coming-of-age feature Abschussfahrt (2015) (Constantin Films) where he played the British thug ‘Bret’. He has worked extensively in German TV series and cinema. He was part of the original cast of the TV Sketch Comedy Die unwahrscheinlichen Ereignisse im Leben von … (2014) (WDR Germany / btf GmbH), which received a nomination for a ‘Grimme’, one of the most celebrated award in German Television. In mid 2017 he played a guest lead on the popular German TV series Bettys Diagnose (2015) (ZDF / Network Movie GmbH). Ryan’s career started off typically British: with a cup of tea in a rehearsal room, working on a Shakespeare production: playing The Fool in KING LEAR. Between Shakespeare, Ibsen, Brecht, and Chekhov, he has also worked on modern political dramas and satires, appearing at the award-winning Arcola Theatre London. Ryan’s work has been underpinned by his love of the stage, which he continues to return to. As a writer Ryan has co-created award-winning online series and various short films, such as the 10 second comedy The Blow Job (2014), which won an award at the Canadian International Comedy Film Festival.
