Michael Patrick Lane was born in Bryan, Texas, to Becky Lane (teacher) and Fred Lane (courier). He is the oldest of two children. His first acting job was in the musical Godspell at age 9 with Brazos Valley TROUPE in Texas. From there he went on to sing another decade in musical revues and concerts, including performances with Barry Manilow and The All-State Choir, before teaming up with Nikki Pederson Talent and landing scholarships for various acting schools across the US. He accepted scholarships to train with master Meisner teacher, Kathryn Gately, at Northern Illinois University and moved to New York to continue his education at The Barrow Group and with Anthony Abeson. He took a brief time off of schooling to shoot the lead in his first feature film, Shelter (which won him best picture in film festivals), and several other films, TV shows (including The Blacklist on NBC) and stage appearances, along with a dozen commercials. After returning to finish his studies in New York City, he has been focusing on films and television only. It’s rumored he has two films in the works and a television series that will be airing towards the end of 2016.
