Maureen was born in Bundorran, County Donegal, while her Dad was doing summer season at a local theatre. She was brought up in Glasgow. She is the eldest of four children; 2 brothers Mark and Paul, plus sister Louise. Her father, Johnny is a well known Scottish entertainer, while her late mother, Kitty was a model. She trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, where she won the James Bridie medal in her final year. Her hobbies are reading, writing, cooking, cake decorating, flamenco dancing and going to the gym. She currently lives in South London.
