Joe Amato was on-the-air when he was 15 years old! He was a DJ working for his hometown radio station in suburban New York. He joined AFTRA when he was 19 while working for a big radio station in Boston. Out of Emerson College he became a TV news sports-anchor and stayed on the air in that capacity for over 20 years. He worked in Texas and Louisiana (New Orleans), Hartford and New York. He then made the transition to commercial and film work. Joe was stopped by a model agent in Manhattan’s Union Square and was told they were looking for sharp-suited men for commercial print campaigns. Joe went on to appear many times in magazines like Fortune as an international traveler or entrepreneur. Joe started booking a number commercial, film and TV projects in New York City using his authoritative presence to play detectives, football coaches etc., and then, of course, … comedic characters. Because of his many hours of live television he has strong improvisation and comedy skills. His comedy hero is Peter Sellers having watched all the Pink Panther films 376,588 times (A North American record!). A big science fiction fan as well Joe has now come to Hollywood to command a Starship.
