Hamza Haq is a Pakistani-Canadian actor. Having grown up in Saudi Arabia, his family immigrated to Ottawa when he was 9.He’s the youngest of 4 children to an engineer father and an organic chemist mother and discovered his knack for performance in school plays starting in grade 6 all the way through high school and competing in the SAACS Dance Team at Carleton University. In 2012 he graduated with a degree in Film Studies and Law. Hamza started out working as an extra for 4 years in Ottawa as a part time job while in university before he got his first speaking role in the CBC show “Michael: Tuesday’s and Thursdays”. His career really gained momentum once he moved to Montreal being the host of “Look Kool” (TVOKids) which was nominated for an International Emmy. He also landed his first recurring role in “The Art of More” (SONY / Crackle) opposite Dennis Quaid and Kate Bosworth. Since then his recurring TV credits include an FBI Trainee in Priyanka Chopra’s “Quantico” (ABC), twin crime lords in “The Indian Detective” (CTV/ Netflix) starring Russell Peters, William Shatner, and Anupam Kher, and his guest star appearance on “This Life” (CBC) which earned him a Canadian Screen Award nomination. Film credits include hit Canadian comedy blockbuster “Bon Cop Bad Cop 2”, Xavier Dolan’s “The Death and Life of John F. Donovan”, and Darren Aronofsky’s “Mother!”. Hamza has been studying acting since 2011 at LS&Co Studios and continues his study to this day. Upcoming roles include the new Seth Rogen / Charlize Theron comedy “Long Shot” and Rob Ford drama “Run This Town” opposite Mena Massoud, Nina Dobrev, Ben Platt, and Damian Lewis; both films premiered at SXSW this year. He will also have a recurring part in upcoming crime drama “Jett” (HBO / Cinemax), starring Carla Gugino, set for release this summer
