Trystan Go, born 31 October 2001, is an Australian Chinese actor and singer. Go is known for his role in the award-winning Matchbox Pictures and NBC Universal television production, The Family Law (2016), as the principal character, Benjamin Law, which aired three seasons on SBS, SBS Viceland and Comedy Central and also released on DVD and SBS On Demand. The third season premiered at the Adelaide Film Festival. An article in The Sydney Morning Herald described Go’s work as “impressive on so many levels,” and addressed him as, “a non-stop professional.” Go starred in the SparkeFilms sci-fi/action feature film, Occupation (2018), as Marcus Chambers, which screened globally in 2018 and released on Blu-ray and online platforms. Go reprised his role in the sequel, Occupation Rainfall (2020), alongside Ken Jeong and Temuera Morrison. In 2019, Go played recurring character, Bo in Merman and Guesswork Television’s comedy/drama, Frayed (2019), which will screen on Sky UK and ABC. In 2017, Go played Peng in MadKids’ comedy-mystery web series, Small Town Hackers (2017), which was commissioned by Above Average. Go also played a guest role in the MadOnes’ short film, I F*cked a Mermaid and No One Believes Me (2018). Prior to his screen success, Go worked in numerous stage shows including, The Gordon Frost Organisation & Opera Australia’s award-winning production of, The King and I (2014), alongside Gold Logie award winner, Lisa McCune and world-renowned bass baritone, Teddy Tahu Rhodes, and the Australasian Art and Stageworks’ production of, The Quiet Brother (2012). Co-star of The King and I, Lisa McCune sang Trystan’s praises during an appearance on Network Ten’s panel show, Studio 10 (2013), saying, “He’s extraordinary…I was watching him last night and I was learning off him and I thought wow, there are things about what he does as a young performer that are very fresh and natural.” In conjunction with Go’s acting career, he is an avid singer and pianist, having trained and performed at the Australian Institute of Music, the National Institute of Dramatic Arts, and the Musicwave Studio for several years. In 2017, Go was selected as a finalist in the Cantorion Singing Competition.
