Maria Gabriela de Faria, or “Mary” as she is best known to her many fans, is an award-winning Venezuelan actress and singer who catapulted to fame as Isabela “Isa” Pasquali in Sony Latin America/Nickelodeon’s hit series “Isa TKM” and “Isa TK+”. Across Latin America and the US Hispanic population (thanks to the show airing on MTV Tr3s), the teen telenovela, with its sold-out live tour, two #1 albums, and Maria in the lead role, became Nick’s #1 Spanish language show in over 20 countries and spawned legions of swarming, shrieking, adolescent fans (a phenomenon described by the Los Angeles Times as “Isa-Mania”). That she also happened to be dating her TV love interest in real-life, Reinaldo Zavarce “Peche”, thrust them both even further into the international media spotlight, and onto the covers of teen magazines across LatAm. Born and raised in Caracas, Maria Gabriela began her career acting in commercials at the age of 5 before starring in the Venezuelan telenovela “Ser Bonita No Basta,” the teen drama “Tukiti, Creci de Una,” soap opera “Toda Una Dama,” and as the host of children’s program “La Merienda”. In 2006 she scooped up the “Young Actress of the Year” 2-Gold award, and in 2007 the “Mara de Oro” (Young Actress of the Year) award in Venezuela. Her work on the “Isa” series netted her four Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards and nominations in both Mexico and Brazil, including “Favorite Actress (2010, Brasil)” and “Favorite Female Character” (2010, Mexico). She hosted the red carpet pre-show broadcast for the MTV Latin Awards in Mexico in 2009. In 2012, she starred in Nickelodeon’s other hit series, “Grachi” as Mia Cruz.
